Create or/and Use a Mental (Mind) Movies to Achieve Your Goals

We all have something in life (or work) that we want to achieve. Most of the time we don’t know how to go about achieving these goals. Often when we do know how to go about achieving them we just allow ourselves to fail by simply giving up. Creating a mental movie can increase your chances of success as it is a creative and simple way to program your mind.

 

A mental movie is a creative visualization technique used by Neuro Linguistic Practitioners to help clients reprogram their mind to overcome fears or phobias, heal past traumas or to achieve work or life goals. If you know the goal you want to achieve then you can take advantage of this powerful tool to help you create a successful outcome.

 

Step 1: Decide your goal.

 

It is essential that you can identify the goal you want to achieve. It must be precise. Write it down.

 

Step 2: Create a blueprint.

 

You know the end point; the goal. It is important that you create a blueprint describing the exact change you want to make. For it to be useful and generate a successful outcome it must:

 

  • Use all five senses;
  • Be very descriptive; and
  • Be written in the present tense

 

For example, if your goal is to become more confident in social situations your blueprint might look like this:

 

I am at a party for a colleague’s birthday. The room is brightly lit with music playing. There are red, blue, yellow and green balloons everywhere. I can hear people talking and laughing. I am standing in the centre of a group of colleagues talking about a movie. Everyone is listening. They are smiling at me and I feel happy. The beat of the music pulses through me making me feel invigorated. I feel comfortable talking and listening with others.

 

With every sip of my drink I feel stronger and more confident. Each bit of the delicious food makes me feel happier. I am smiling

 

You can include different scenes, just like in a real movie. So change the situations to include any that are important in helping you to create the movie of the life you desire.

 

Step 3: Relax

 

It is important to relax as this is how you will get your subconscious mind to open up and be receptive to your mental movie.

 

Find somewhere comfortable. Close your eyes. Tense every muscle in your body and then release. Repeat twice more. Next, breathe in deeply through your nose to a count of five and out through your mouth to a count of eight. Repeat this three times or until you feel relaxed.

 

Step 4: Play your movie

This is where the mental programming takes place. You play your mental movie visualizing you living the goal you set. It is important that your movie is played as if you are living it now. Feel the emotions, experience the sights and sounds. Don’t forget to include all your senses to make the experience feel real.

 

To make sure that your new mental program is fully installed you will need to repeat steps 3 and 4 every day for 30 days for best effect.

Of course, it cant hurt to start with playing games that you love. Many people love to do crossword puzzles and do them without even giving it much thought that it could be helping their brains. If you believe that keeping your brain active will keep it healthy later in life, then doing crossword puzzles frequently is a good activity to engage in.

If you are not into them, you should consider puzzle games. These types of games will get you to focus on problem solving. There is some belief that pathways created in our brain from the result of solving problems can help to reinforce the brains capacity. Not all scientific studies are in agreement with this conclusion, however.

Do you tend to be more analytical? Then, you may want to focus on quizzes and other games, like trivia. These can challenge your knowledge. Repeated use will enhance your learning, at least in the subjects that you choose to quiz yourself on.

The last group of games that you could participate in, are ones where you need to think ahead in order to solve the puzzle or problem at hand. Sudoku and chess are great examples of these types of games. Chess requires the projection of several moves in advance.

Brain training offers a more formal approach than brain games. Here, you are given a curriculum and you are requested to perform brain exercises, including brain games. The training is often structured for each individual. The idea is for you to find the right approach that meets your individual needs.

The motives of many brain training companies is to make a profit. Although companies have the right to make money, make sure the companies you are considering are legitimate. Ask a lot of questions and try to seek the advice of others who experienced these programs. Otherwise, you may end up paying hefty fees and receive little to no benefits to your brain. Even if you decide not to enroll in any program, if you enjoy playing games, feel free to participate in any free brain games that you find.

This article is designed to give you some insight into the relatively new technology of Binaural Beats. There are many producers of binaural beat technology competing in the market today. It is possible to create your own with the proper software. However, an in-depth knowledge of brainwave patterns and their effect on the mind and body is advisable before ever trying to create your own. There are many forum threads on the web that claim binaural beats have had a negative or even damaging effect on certain listeners. For that reason I believe it is safer to stick to the tried and tested pre-made recordings that are available for a reasonable fee. You can purchase separate binaural beat recordings to induce almost any emotional state or you can even enroll on a binaural beat program for self improvement that takes several years to complete.

I, myself, have no experience of any damaging effects due to the use of binaural beats. However, if you are using binaural beats for personal development purposes their use can be uncomfortable. All my experiences have been extremely positive, although not always pleasurable. Let me explain.

ECC machines have been used in the past to monitor the brain activity of lifelong meditators. While in a deep meditative state, these meditational experts, displayed alpha, theta and delta brainwave patterns. These are the very states that binaural beats create.

Alpha wave patterns in the brain occur in a relaxed state and during this time we are very susceptible to suggestion. This is the state that you enter during hypnosis. Theta brainwaves allow for the absorption of huge amounts of information while Delta brainwaves are most apparent when you enter a state of deep but dreamless sleep. It is the Delta state that is the main aim of such practices as transcendental meditation. Although for many entering the delta state while fully conscious can be very relaxing, for most it is not, for it is during such brain activity that internal change occurs.

By bringing the listener into this extremely deep state of meditation, binaural technology, can activate major positive changes in your emotional, mental and physical make-up. Now this can be a profoundly life altering experience. You will find past buried memories resurface as the beats direct your brain to restructure its neural network and raise your “comfort level” to a new high. After several listening session you find yourself less stressed out than before and your reaction to situations, that in the past would have sent you screaming round the halls, much more composed. The technology literally eliminates negative emotional, mental and physical patterns. The discomfort I spoke of earlier comes from the restructuring of your brains neural network as old buried uncomfortable memories are triggered in the brain before the connecting emotional response is wiped away. You are still left with the memory of the event but you no longer have any emotional attachment to it. Dont worry, for some reason, it doesn’t affect positive memories! It may be due to the natural state of the mind and body, for this system of mind/body is always seeking equilibrium and harmony, which tends to lead to feelings of joy and happiness.

Binaural beats is a proven technology that can create brainwave changes which alter your mood and changes the chemical reactions in your body to encourage faster healing and harmonious interaction between cells. However, there is currently research being conducted to determine if these beats can actually direct the brain to reformat DNA encoding. If this is possible the possibilities are almost limitless – decrease in illness, genetic disorders, a reversal of aging etc.

If personal development and self improvement isn’t your main aim for investigating binaural beats (and don’t want to get younger) then the single recordings designed to induce specific mind/body changes is enough. You can get recordings for an energy boost, meditation, to spark the creative areas of the brain, induce deep sleep and even one that acts like a digital drug!

Exercise regularly, get adequate sleep every night and enjoy a healthy diet to help you continue your personal growth. A healthy body makes it easier to concentrate on personal development, even though it may be a challenge.

To cope with depression, exercise! Walking is a great form of exercise and a brisk walk can do wonders to lift your spirits. Don’t neglect strolling! Taking a leisurely stroll after dinner each day, can help you relax and unwind. Take time to look and really see all that is around you. Seek the positive in all things.

To help you improve yourself personally, exercising everyday is essential. Exercise can help you improve your focus, enhance your ability in a variety of sports and generally improve your health and well being. Exercise is also key to personal development since exercise releases endorphins, which are a mood enhancer and promote a more positive outlook on life.

*Never expect – After letting go of your inhibitions and all those little things that prevent you from thinking and feeling clearly, by no means expect an answer right away. Give it a little time.

*Trust your first impressions. – When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.

Intuition is helpful, because every now and then it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by intuition alone. Decisions are easier made if armed by this gift. Expand your intuition now and harvest benefits you have never imagined.

It is the natural right of every human being to be happy to escape all the miseries of life. Happiness is the normal condition, as natural as the landscapes and the seasons. It is unnatural to suffer and it is only because of our ignorance that we do suffer. Happiness is the product of wisdom. To attain perfect wisdom, to comprehend fully the purpose of life, to realize completely the relationship of human beings to each other, is to put an end to all suffering, to escape every ill and evil that afflicts us. Perfect wisdom is unshadowed joy.

Why do we suffer in life? Because in the scheme of nature we are being forced forward in evolution and we lack the spiritual illumination that alone can light the way and enable us to move safely among the obstacles that lie before us. Usually we do not even see or suspect the presence of trouble until it suddenly leaps upon us like a concealed tiger. One day our family circle is complete and happy. A week later death has come and gone and joy is replaced with agony. Today we have a friend. Tomorrow he will be an enemy and we do not know why. A little while ago we had wealth and all material luxuries. There was a sudden change and now we have only poverty and misery and yet we seek in vain for a reason why this should be. There was a time when we had health and strength; but they have both departed and no trace of a reason appears. Aside from these greater tragedies of life innumerable things of lesser consequence continually bring to us little miseries and minor heartaches. We most earnestly desire to avoid them but we never see them until they strike us, until in the darkness of our ignorance we blunder upon them. The thing we lack is the spiritual illumination that will enable us to look far and wide, finding the hidden causes of human suffering and revealing the method by which they may be avoided; and if we can but reach illumination the evolutionary journey can be made both comfortably and swiftly. It is as though we must pass through a long, dark room filled with furniture promiscuously scattered about. In the darkness our progress would be slow and painful and our bruises many. But if we could press a button that would turn on the electric light we could then make the same journey quickly and with perfect safety and comfort.

The old method of education was to store the mind with as many facts, or supposed facts, as could be accumulated and to give a certain exterior polish to the personality. The theory was that when a man was born he was a completed human being and that all that could be done for him was to load him up with information that would be used with more or less skill, according to the native ability he happened to be born with. The theosophical idea is that the physical man, and all that constitutes his life in the physical world, is but a very partial expression of the self; that in the ego of each there is practically unlimited power and wisdom; that these may be brought through into expression in the physical world as the physical body and its invisible counterparts, which together constitute the complex vehicle of the ego’s manifestation, are evolved and adapted to the purpose; and that in exact proportion that conscious effort is given to such self-development will spiritual illumination be achieved and wisdom attained. Thus the light that leads to happiness is kindled from within and the evolutionary journey that all are making may be robbed of its suffering.

Why does death bring misery? Chiefly because it separates us from those we love. The only other reason why death brings grief or fear is because we do not understand it and comprehend the part it plays in human evolution. But the moment our ignorance gives way to comprehension such fear vanishes and a serene happiness takes its place.

Why do we have enemies from whose words or acts we suffer? Because in our limited physical consciousness we do not perceive the unity of all life and realize that our wrong thinking and doing must react upon us through other people a situation from which there is no possible escape except through ceasing to think evil and then patiently awaiting the time when the causes we have already generated are fully exhausted. When spiritual illumination comes, and we no longer stumble in the night of ignorance, the last enemy will disappear and we shall make no more forever.

Why do people suffer from poverty and disease? Only because of our blundering ignorance that makes their existence possible for us, and because we do not comprehend their meaning and their lessons, nor know the attitude to assume toward them. Had we but the wisdom to understand why they come to people, why they are necessary factors in their evolution, they would trouble us no longer. When nature’s lesson is fully learned these mute teachers will vanish.

And so it is with all forms of suffering we experience. They are at once reactions from our ignorant blunderings and instructors that point out the better way. When we have comprehended the lessons they teach they are no longer necessary and disappear. It is not by the outward acquirement of facts that men become wise and great. It is by developing the soul from within until it illuminates the brain with that flood of light called genius.

Of course, you can always seek help from a life coach, your parents, siblings and friends, but at the end of the day its still your goals you’re after. Be sincere in your desires. If you really want to succeed with your lifes goals, you must actually want to attain them with everything you’ve got. Without that desire, there isn’t any point in you achieving those goals. They should already be things that youve so long desired in order to make any sort of efforts in realizing them.
Identify your goals. This is where having a to-do list would come in handy. Specifying what you wish to accomplish is important in order to make any moves. Remember that one simply cannot lose weight in a general manner and expect to succeed in it. Instead, theyd have to specify how much weight they wish to lose, since it is more realistic and precise.
Take note of the steps to be made. You will want to list down the things that are necessary to be done so you can at least get somewhere with your personal life goals.
